My Intimate clients come to me for all different reasons; whether it be to learn something about themselves, to build confidence, to celebrate a milestone, or to document their current chapter in life.
The prevailing pattern, though, is that they are embarking on this journey for themselves.
Intimate photography can be as revealing as you want it to be, from fully covered up and demure to fully nude. Most women fall someplace in between, and your boundaries are always respected. At Kate Marsh Portraits we keep it classic, timeless and classy, with an emphasis on black & white.
Thinking about an Intimate Portrait Session for yourself?
Your first step is to contact me via email/message/DM. There is usually too much information to share over text or DM so I will get your email & reply with everything you need to know...
How long the session takes, what is and is not included in your portrait session, information on my Collections, and when my next availability is. Keep in mind, I am generally booked up 2-3 months in advance, so be sure to plan ahead!
When you're ready to book, we'll agree on a date and I'll send you a contract, invoice & a questionnaire so I can learn a bit about you and what you want from your portrait session.
Once those steps are complete, you'll be officially booked! I'll send you some emails in the lead up to your portrait session discussing what to wear, how to prepare & tips on taking better portraits. I will also send you a little questionnaire to fill out. So I know things like; if you want your face visible? Or would you like to remain anonymous (or a mix of both). Do you prefer a more classic-boudoir-style with a bed, or would you prefer something a bit more artistic & editorial?
I'll also remind you to have a good nights sleep before the big day, drink lots of water and eat something!
So now it is time for the fun part - the portrait session day!! By this time, I'll have given you so much information you'll know exactly what to expect.
First, I'll introduce you to my makeup artist - Maddi. She'll take great care to enhance your features while still looking natural, just like yourself on your most well-rested, well-hydrated day. While Maddi is working her magic, I'll look through your wardrobe options you brought and I'll also put together each of your looks and a shot list to be sure we capture everything we have planned.
Once you’re completely happy with your look, Maddi will leave for your privacy. The shoot doesn't start with any big change to the mood of the room...it's essentially a continuation of the past hour. You might be surprised at how comfortable you already feel!
I'll put you into poses, tell you where to put your hands, where to look, how to breathe and then photograph you from all angles. There's a lot of me staring at you and thinking! That's me making sure I know I have the best shots of that look. Once we've got a large variety of images, we change looks and continue on for the duration of our time.
It's fun for me, it's fun for you, and it's over before you know it. By the time we are packing up, you'll already want to do it again! We'll set a date for your reveal and ordering appointment and you'll leave the studio with an extra spring in your step. ✨

*Intimate Portrait Sessions are held in the Kate Marsh Portraits Studio in Clunes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.
